So mixed reviews then, don't forget chaps, tescos entertainment is different I believe to tescos.co.uk and tescos direct (I believe) just in case some people are getting confused.(which is understandable, it confuses me - not that that says much data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 )

Some delays can be caused by the Post Office and not necessarily by the supplier sending the preorder out late.
The preorder market has got much bigger recently and with AAA games the Post Office can sometimes struggle!

I got a couple of copies of Blops on release day last year. When I thanked the postie - said my son's going to be happy - he asked what they were. When I told him it was a COD game - he asked if I wanted to look in his van - I did and it was FULL of little jiffy bags data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 He said there were thousands back at the local sorting office and all the staff were complaining data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

They supposedly shipped my Ltd Ed. of Gears 3 last friday meaning i would have received it at the earliest on saturday. Release day has come and gone and it hasn't arrived. I'm pretty sure the website said "Despatched: to Arrive for Day of Release".
I phoned them and they were perhaps the most unhelpful ppl i have ever dealt with. I asked them why they didn't send it via recorded delivery and their excuse was that it wasn't valued more than £75... and I would have to wait 10 working days before i can claim it as missing and get either a replacement or a refund. They obviously don't understand the meaning of the phrase "Limited Edition"
My advice is avoid them... They are quick enough to take your money, but don't give a damn when the goods don't arrive on the other side.
And anyone reading this will say its Royal Mail's fault...
Yes it is to a point, but if Tesco took precautions to safeguard goods then Royal Mail wouldn't have "lost" it in the first place!! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Had my copy of Gears dispatched on Sunday morning and it arrived Monday so in my experience they are just as good as Game or Shopto but thanks to discount vouchers and Quidco I don't normally pay more than £30 per game.

I'd wager that the Limited Edition of Gears Of War 3 will still be on sale in a year, and will probably be £20 or less.

Black Ops arrived 3 days late last time out despite multiple lies on their twitter (and via email) that they'd all been despatched early - the postmark proved otherwise.Lots of unrest and threads at the time.

Have always found Zavvi/The Hut spot on (if not slightly early at times), so surprised to hear Tesco is part of the same group

After pre-ordering Black Ops and it not arrive on release day I went into local Tesco store and picked a copy up, the copy I pre-ordered from Tesco Ent. arrived 5 days later data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 after that I decided not to use them again.

Lesson learnt: if you want to buy from Tesco walk in a pickup a store copy don't pre-order online data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

This happens every year when a AAA game is due to be released. Everyone has good and bad experiences with retailers. I received my GOW3 preorder from Tesco Ent on a Saturday (4 days before official release) whilst others received theirs on a Tuesday (release day).

It's just a case of luck (and never a guarantee) whether you receive a game early from ANY retailer, whether it's Tesco, ShopTo, Bee, Game etc.

I understand people are excited and anxious to be playing a highly anticipated game early or on release (as I am) but patience is a virtue.

I personally go with the cheapest.

Well said, I've always gone with the cheapest and suprise, suprise always receieved on release day or before.

As long as you get your order in nice and early you should be fine.

Same here and with the 20% and 25% codes and the 8% Quidco cash back they really are the best, apart from MW3 I am paying about £26/27 for every major title between now and March next year and MW3 is only costing just over £30
