Might take it back to Game today then.

Wilson, could you paste the link to the YouTube video with the same problem, or what the title was. Couldn’t Find it when searching. Would like to give it a look.
Thanks

I have had Rise of Tomb Raider freeze or shut down my Xbox X twice so far with about 5 hours of game play.I also have an LG 4k tv.One time it froze mid jump and could move camera. Had to hold in power button to unfreeze. The other time it just shutdown Xbox without warning.I had one other 4 k game freeze system too but can't recall which one. Possibly Ghost Recon Wildlands.

Well I thought I had found the issue movements ago, but now am actually more confused. Here’s what I did.
1) I copied the game from the external to internal drive (so I could show the issue in store if asked)
2) Disconnecte the external drive and ran from the internal.
3) Game ran fine in 4k native.
4) Assuming it was connected to the ext drive, I removed from internal and reconnected external.
5) Launched Game from external.
6) Strangely, it ran in 4k native, so I now don’t know.

Unfortunately, I didn’t try it from the external before copying this morning. I wonder if it could be related to the console being cold from sitting overnight, rather than having been on for a few hours, setting up and installing et ,when I tried it before.

I’m now not sure whether I should take it back for exchange or not?

Sounds to me more like it’s an issue with installing direct to external?

Yeah, I’m wondering whether to change the external. Could do with a bigger one anyways, and I had to repair the power supply for the hard drive a month or so ago and wonder if there might be an issue of maybe the power dropping for a few seconds or something.

I’ll try playing ROTTR for a bit to see if getting hot produces the problem. But certainly working right now.

Definitely still sounds like a corrupt install but with the new evidence I don’t think it’s the Xbox at fault...

It could just be the game, have you played any other games in 4k without problems?

Gunner, played the forza 7 demo in 4k, with no problems.
