Question LG uk600 monitor
looking at getting this monitor, has anybody got/tried ithttps://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-27UK600-Monitor-DisplayPort-Freesync/dp/B079ST25MR/ref=mp_s_a_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1542040542&sr=8-10&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=lg monitor Can't answer directly but I've got the model that came directly before this - the 27UD68P - and it's an exceptional monitor.
The UK600 hadn't been released when I was looking earlier in the year so I settled for a second hand UD68P (admittedly at half the cost of the UK600). It doesn't do true HDR10 - it has 8 bit colour with FRC, but there wasn't a monitor available at the time that did true HDR. The X1X doesn't therefore recognise is as HDR compliant, but as I understand it you do get at least some of the HDR benefit. It's certainly a huge improvement on the 1080P gaming monitor I was using before, which itself was well-regarded.
This looks to have true 10 bit HDR, so it should be recognised by the console automatically. On the strength of how impressed I've been with the UD68P, and with this being the successor model, I don't think you'll go far wrong. I just did a spot of Googling out of interest and found some forum posts which suggest that this is also 8 bit colour with FRC rather than true 10 bit HDR. That does seem to fly in the face of what the Amazon specs say but it may be worth checking out if true HDR is a must have. To be honest I game on a 50 inch 4K panny at the moment but the daughter wants to watch tv so I was looking for a decent monitor to game on and all the reviews seem to suggest that this is a great monitor to game on I don't think you'll go far wrong with one.
Bear in mind that it doesn't have speakers so you'll need some sort of sound output. I use my antiquated PC 2.1 speakers hooked up the 3.5mm jack on the back of the screen. Decent colours on this monitor just bare in mind its a IPS so it may have backlight bleed on corners or poor uniformity only thing I really dislike about IPS monitors. The 27UK650 is currently down to £355 at Amazon as part of thwir Black Friday promotion. Cheers just brought the BenQ el287ou for £240 hopefully it will be a good monitor Let us know how you get one with the BenQ. Specs look good only thing with BenQs are the AMA settings can be a pain in the arse for motion problems. Im not sure if this model has a inbetween AMA setting from off and high and highest. https://www.avforums.com/attachments/11ae076d-5a4a-49a0-b957-e506a12d0abc-jpeg.1087218/ Got the monitor and I am impressed,I am now sitting about 2 foot away and the picture is more vibrant than the tv. On the AMA setting there is off, high and premium I have looked on YouTube and it seems as if high is the way to go
