The procedure seems to be - Don't hang about!
Same thing (but more so) happened with the LG OLEDs at the beginning of the week.

49” XE90 is £999 today at Crampton Moore, won’t get much better than that.

Yep, saw that but it was £1200 with a soundbar before, i personally don't find £999 that much of an improvement minus the soundbar. But that's just me (who would have used the soundbar).

Maybe. But the US price is currently $898 for the equivalent model (XBR49X900E). That says to me that it’s possible the price will fall to £899 or £949 at some point, either by Monday or in the January sales. If you can wait!

It is never quite so transparent as that.
Besides the obvious exchange rate, UK prices are VAT inclusive whereas US prices are plus sales tax, which varies from state to state.

Anyone think the Dyson hairdryer will be on a BF deal?

I’ve accounted for VAT. At current exchange rates, $898 = £680. Adding VAT takes that to £816. So, I’ve allowed for an extra £84 to be charged to UK punters in order to cater for the increased margins required by UK retailers. Therefore, I think my rough methodology is fairly legitimate.
