As I said, I don't think I can change your mind. As for the "Think of the children bull...", I really don't expect you to give two hoots about your children, my children or anybody elses children, but when you refer to 'civil liberty', what makes you believe that smokers or vapers have any sort of 'civil right' over and above anyone elses civil rights?
I'm not saying 'think of the children', in a soppy, cotton-wool way either. I'm just saying that I chose to smoke, my wife chose to smoke, and if I choose to give my daughter every opportunity in life, and to educate her that smoking is wrong for her in all kinds of ways, then that's what I'll do.
This is what makes the world more interesting imo, that people have differing opinions on subjects. As previously mentioned, I'm not trying to convince you personally that I'm right, and that you're wrong (my ego isn't that big tbh!) It's just that as much as you don't care about my child,I don't care whether anyone that chooses to smoke or vape has to stand outside in the rain to do so...

My point is that if you care about smoking being considered normal, then I would argue that is more important for the child's parents not to smoke and denounce smoking than it is for the child to see some strangers smoking.
Would you ban swearing in restaurants in case a child heard and imitated?Would you ban women from wearing makeup in case your daughter thought she could only look acceptable when wearing it?Would you ban all junk food so your child doesn't grow up to want it?
I'm not arguing that a smoker has elevated rights over anyone only that it seems everyone's rights seem to take a back seat for the benefit of other people's kids.

Probably a similar number to the cost of work days lost to sickness and the cost of treating people with heart disease and cancer.
And that's not allowing for those who get their fags from the continent anyway.

Bad example, in most civilised restaurants you would quite likely be asked to moderate your tone if you started effing and blinding...

E cigarettes are not illegal ( yet) so if I want to indulge in my hobby that is not harmful to either myself or those around me then I will and to hell with the two faced politicians and whingers who want to try and stop me!

My parents weren't smokers yet I did smoke. I'm not buying the normalisation link. Besides who the hell determines how someone else lives their live without harming anyone. Heck I could say the welsh accent should be banned, children growing up around it may think its normal. Just as ridiculous.
I really don't get this obsession with people to hand over their own responsibilities and for the government to interfere with such matter. Then again why doesn't wag concentrate on the serious issues data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

You mean they have a drug addiction, and when they use such a device it puts the drug nicotine back into their system and stops the craving.
Or if they insist that's not the case and just a physical thing, perhaps they could just suck on a plastic pen or something.

No that is not what I mean at all, many people enjoy smoking tobacco and many people now enjoy vaping... Are you suggesting that all these people are hopeless addicts?
