Hiatus hernia
Any one suffer with this ? If so how bad are your symptoms? What meds are you taking ? Will you be having any surgery? I have been suffering since 2012 and been on emoprazol. The doctor changed it to lanzoprazole recently but symptoms have got worse . Bad acid reflux etc anyone got any advice ? proton pump inhibitors like omeparoze and lanzoprazole are a standard treatment for the reflux side of it, you need to also keep an eye on your diet and intake though too, alcohol and smoking are a nightmare for really aggravating symptoms. I believe its also better to sleep on your left side as I recall to ease the symptoms at night. If its still an issue then see your doc about the dosage of the PPI and possible changing it for another. Thanks , was on 40mg of omeprazole but Dr changed to 30mg of lanzoprazole . Both are not working! There are others, omepand lanso are the originals so there might be a newer more effective one. Obviously i can't recommend anything on the forum as that's the doctors job but don't be afraid to go back and ask for another I was diagnosed with a small one about 18 months ago. But my symptoms were not caused by that. It was in fact something called Nutcracker oesophagus syndrome. This is way more painful and aggravating! I had been subscribed a newer version of omeprazole called Esomeprazole. Good luck with getting it sorted. Hi have been referred now for an upper GI surgical consultation. been put on the urgent list so only a two week wait! Endoscopy at nine am today !
