No worries mate, hope you get full recovery soon. How was the run you went in for?

Probably mow down a lot of their junk food through the week?

i have been slowly building up now. Last 'proper' run was the Manchester 10k in 52 mins and after pain during the race eventually went for an X Ray that diagnosed a stress fracture in my fibula. So not a bad time after all !!
The peroneal nerve has taken a little longer to fix / heal with the help of physio. Been building up gradually so hope that this course of action leads to a complete recovery.

I reckon you can probably still run further and faster than me......

It's all relative mate.

Everyone should be the best they can be. There will always be someone faster, stronger, younger etc so tread your own path and your achievements will be your own.

Edited to reflect one of my own phrases... The thing I find most difficult about the gym isn't an exercise, but rather leaving my ego at the door.
I look at dome blokes who are as big as dinosaurs, or in great shape as they have been weight lifting for years and I still think to myself ”i should be able to do that "...

Abbeygoo Publish time 26-11-2019 05:37:53

You can't speed up the process but you have at least started it. To get into that shape takes years of dedication and training and so it should ..... If it was easy, everyone would do it.

As I said, everyone has to choose their own path. Looks are pleasing but I am more interested in what I can do, than what I look like.

I wouldn't worry abolut being the soze of a dinosaur - I know I'll never be with me being an ectomorph / hard gainer...people seem to think that doesn't exist... as I train my backside off and the gains are just slow and steady... data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

It took me years to get fat, getting slim was months, getting muscle is a much slower progress... data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

At the beginning of the year I was 82kg wobbly then in July 72.8kg and now I'm 80kg, abs are starting to show, and everything (well almost) is getting bigger! I'm VERY happy!

Anyway in keeping with the thread, my missus today was doing arms..
Lateral dumbbell raise followed by a bicep curl was one move.

She said in a big Loud voice that she called then "Flying Big Guns".....
