Chinese food, like any cuisine from any country, has both healthy and unhealthy recipes.Prawn crackers, fried rice, spare ribs, sweet and sour, spring rolls - I'm not an expert, but I would hazard a guess that Chinese food is a little broader than this.
I could quite easily spend every day having a fry-ups, fish and chips, Welsh rarebit, Scotch eggs, puddings, cakes and pies - but none of that makes British food in itself unhealthy.'Unhealthy cuisine' is down to each person's dietary choices and sense (or lack) of moderation.

I would imagine most Chinese people wouldn't recognise half of the food served out of a takeaway. Same, I guess for Indian (Bangladesh, Afghan) takeaways!

Exactly - I spent a couple of months in northern China in the mid nineties. The food there bore no resemblance to the average Chinese takeaway in the UK. A lot more boiled foods, considerably more bland, and none of the stodgy sweet stuff we get here. There were certainly no overweight people, and considerably more active elderly people.
It was the same story in Nepal - simple foods, not especially spicy, served in lots of small portions.

I suppose it's all in moderation, but I would avoid it personally.
Essentially what it does it block the signals from the gut to the brain, so you don't know when you're full. It tricks your brain cells into becoming over excited and can end up killing brain cells.
Regardless of how dangerous it might be in reality, this would depend on how much of it you eat I assume, I don't want to eat anything that messes with my brain!
This is also the reason why I don't drink soft drinks, too many nasties in them.
I have a great Chinese restaurant near to me, they make a big deal of stating that their food is very healthy, they cook with sunflower oil, no MSG's, no preservatives etc and they have an open kitchen, so you watch them make your food from scratch. It's great.
