Generally though you'll need to tell your gp that your knee is stopping you from doing everyday activities and really big it up. Hopefully that puts you to the top of the pile. I walked into GP's room, explained i had knee pain and that I'd already tried massage, rest, stretching, chiropractor, etc. He referred me straight away, had MRI scan a few weeks later. Thankfully mine was a non-surgery fix. I suffered from chondromalacia patella and was able to resolve it with physio exercises and no damage was done. All my other cartilage was in tip top condition, which i was happyand surprised about.
