Cake Recipes Leaving Out Most Important Detail
Looking for another Lemon Drizzle cake that my dad can use as the new recipe he has (Old one got lost) it keeps collapsing in such a fashion it could win an oscar for best collapse but every time I go to a recipe it seems to leave out the most important factor. What shelf to put the damn thing on, is there a rule of thumb of what shelf to slap stuff on when it comes to this stuff ? Shouldn’t make a lot of difference these days fan ovens maintain a pretty stable temp in any area.
What recipe are you using? Not sure what recipe he is using atm but we do not have a fan oven, just a bog standard gas oven. If you have a gas or a conventional oven, cakes are best baked on the middle shelf, as the temperature of each shelf position varies (this is not the case with fan ovens, which have an even heat throughout). Get to know your oven and make sure you use the correct temperature for its make. 12 of the most common cake baking mistakes fixed £2.80 sorted! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
