Not publicly but there will be a lot behind the scenes.

It wasn't that long ago that every time something crappy happened in the middle east we could trace cause and effect back to oil.

But surely trying to provoke a war with Iran is a step too far?

Surely?

Probably?

Perhaps?

On dear.

They are already at war.
In Yemen.

johntheexpat Publish time 26-11-2019 03:27:37

Is that war or just a big country stamping on a much smaller neighbour?

Trollslayer Publish time 26-11-2019 03:27:38

A proxy war.

It does look like the Saudis are trying to provoke Iran into doing something foolish. If Iran did do something then the Saudis will have the Wests full backing to retaliate. Part of me actually wonders if the Saudis did attack them anyway wether the West would turn a blind eye anyway?

It does look like its boilling up to something pretty bad in the next few years. Full scale uprising in Bahrain would be my guess to what really sets it off. Gulf coalition go in very handed and kill alot of Shia civilians causing Iran to act.

Arabia versus Persia?

tapzilla2k Publish time 26-11-2019 03:27:40

Saudi Arabia and Iran have been fighting a Proxy war for a long while now. Both are vying to have the most influence in the region. The error the Saudi's would probably love to push Iran into making is to reveal Iran has Nuclear Weapons. Which means Israel will sit up and prepare to take action, Obama will look weak due to his deal with Iran being a bust that gained the US nothing. Leaving Saudi Arabia free to pursue it's own Nuclear Weapons programme or buy them covertly. And Putin doing whatever the hell he wants. Basically a recipe for WWIII if things go utterly pearshaped.

Or we end up with a sectarian conflict between Sunni and Shia Islam, which ISIS would love to happen. As they would benefit from the chaos.
