You're probably right. I believe the govt and security services often work with Quilliam, so he may have been advised to publish in the DM ... still surprised it was in their RightMinds section, usually reserved, as its name implies, for right of centre political commentary, when this is really not so much about partisan politics (that strip club story was around the time of the general election when he was a Lib Dem candidate - so he is politically more likely to be centrist/centre-left).
