Erm, oil is intrinsic to human life as we know it, so profit is a by product, we all benefit from oil and its related uses and products. War and bloodshed is also a by product of oil.

The bloke in the pub always says "Its all about Oil" in a way that he hopes you think he knows something you don't.
Just to clear the air on this one, there is currentlyglut of oil. Prices were depressed for a long time. Under $50 a barrel. But since this trouble the price has spiked. So unless you want to paylot more for your fuel, peace in the middle east is best policy. However, the tensions are not something the West can do much about. They are historical.
