Plenty of talk about the snap election effectively ending this Tory expenses scandal ...

Denis Skinner said much the same, although I can only imagine what most here would say about that.

Making claims that a vote/referendum/ election was invalid when it doesn't go your way, seems to be the in thing. I was watching EuroNews this morning and the news banner said that the UK leave campaign over spent. Really?

What about the Government's 'remain' leaflets to every household?

Mind you Euronews are a little biased on this issue.data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Decisions on charges are due at the end of May towards early June just before the election. So in theory we might see a few Tory MP's charged with electoral fraud whilst campaigning for reelection along with election agents and others. Which I assume would only effect the marginal seats, likely giving the Liberal Democrats a boost. If the polls are right then losing 20 MP's down the road won't lose the Tories a majority. But if the polls are out by as much as Nate Silver suggests then the Tories might end up where they started.

Either this played a big role in the decision to go for an early election or it did not. If any political party or Politician breaks the spending limit rules or other electoral law, they should quite rightly face the legal consequences.

The decision....

Basically nothing malicious to see here, lets move on....Although I am sure some will disagree with that...

South Thanet is still outstanding, I gather from the lunchtime news.

Bl4ckGryph0n Publish time 26-11-2019 02:31:58

I understand that is because the local police was simply late in submitting their files, not because they have anything particular they are investigating....Naturally something could turn up for that area, but somehow I doubt it....

It seems there's maybe more to South Thanet than just late file submission. Three conservatives now charged over this.
