Breitbart's Milo Yiannopoulos visit to old school cancelled - BBC News
A school has cancelled a talk by an editor at the US right-wing website Breitbart who was banned from Twitter in a racism row.
Milo Yiannopoulos had been invited to speak at his former school, Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys in Canterbury, on Tuesday.
The decision was taken after the school spoke to the Department for Education Counter Extremism Unit.

I stand corrected, with incisive debate like this he should be touring the country giving talks. //static.avforums.com/styles/avf/smilies/facepalm.gif

Almost anything said in the UK these days can be subject to an investigation, prosecution and a possible prison sentence. This could occur if someone is offended by what was said.
The current trend of 'trigger warnings' and 'save spaces' ensures that almost anything that's said is at risk of offending.
Free speech? Ha ha ha.

Only on campuses and usually as a result of a minority clique of students union tosspots. Much worse in the US.

Dfe (sorry showed my age with DoE) it seems has no such unit just a helpline that helps organisations with their duty under the "prevent" strategy which is part of the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015

I wonder what exactly M.Y. was originally expelled from school for ?
And how ironic that the very school he was expelled from invited him back. And so what sort of role model is he, what has he achieved in life ?
Rhetorical. Except for the first question, if anyone know the answer.

It may be worth while anyway as I am chair of a NFP education organisation so would like to know the procedure. We do have a procedure that comes from the LA but always best double checking.
