Given the sensitivity of the allegations I'm sure she'd want the grilling by the Republicans to be held in light of facts being established by the FBI.
Well if she has reported to the Police this alleged attack (she has hasn't she?) then it will be investigated like any other criminal complaint.
But if we take her at her word - there were only 3 people in the room when the 'attack' took place. So what are the FBI going to do except interview each person under oath - which is precisely what was supposed to happen next week.

There are other factors.
For instance, she has apparently been telling friends and her therapist about this attack for many years. So trying to present this as a fabrication to prevent his nomination seems far fetched to say the least.
Surely you can see the difference between a private interview for a Police investigation and a televised interview conducted by Senators?
