This is a democracy we can have any electoral system we want, preferably one that works.
Our democracy has always evolved, and seats in the houses were originally around nobility, poor people couldn't even vote until relatively recently. This election has shown that greater than ever it is time for change.
As for EU referendum, you mean when not if data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Not sure why the election shows why there is a greater need to change, surely that is just cry of the people who didnt win

I guess your party won, as that is the blinkered illogical argument of someone with a vested interest and not a shred of concern for true representation of the people within our democracy.

Now that's a little harsh and the argument of someone whose party didn't win data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Have you signed the petition at change.org then?

I agree but how do we get it?Barely anyone voted in the referendum in 2010/11 as no-one was bothered so why the fuss now? Even if the system wasn't correct (AV) people could still have voted to show there was an appetite to vote on it one way or the other.
I did mean if but believe that will change to when data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7Followed by 2 years of debate that will paralyse the country and economic growth, split the Tories and will give the wrong answer for about half the country (by population) data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Bottomline is we have have a voting system that isn't fit for purpose. How come no one else uses it? The various assemblies, the EU elections...

I voted as I always do. But why, I do not know. I would never vote labour, and I was one of only 2740 people that voted for UKIP in my constituency. Labour won, again,as it has for more than 30 years I believe, with a majority of just over 17000 over the tories.
So my vote is wasted really.

Change.org? Seriously? I didn't realise that was some kind of national election. I thought it was just a website hosted by a company. What next? How many likes they get on Facebook?
I have the same suspicion about the majority of the country. Very few care about their local MP. Elections are voting for a party. Generally it doesn't matter if it's national or local. Most people vote the same way. How many staunch Labour voters vote for a local Conservative Councillor?

so a 5-year term off a FPTP win due to the FTPA is a PITA

People didn't want AV so why would they vote for it? A better question would have been, "change the voting system, yes or no?" Or "select the voting system you want from this list."
