Labour tried to do deals with the DUP last time there was a hung parliament
Outrage over a pending ‘confidence and supply’ deal between the Tories and the Democratic Unionist Party of Ulster shows no signs of slowing down.
However, the DUP have now pointed out that under Gordon Brown, Labour had tried to strike a similar deal when there was a hung parliament in 2010.
The best course for Brexit now is to press on with this Parliament. There is no majority in the house for 'no deal' and a clear preference for retaining Single Market access (and, if not, certainly for the customs union). May can now be forced to operate within that bracket and such a deal should be relatively easy to broker, i.e. we still pay and retain most of the benefits of membership. We can probably even broker a deal for fast track re-entry in the future. Such a soft Brexit can then endure until we decide to rejoin.
Labour are currently 5 points ahead in the polls (which I'm sure you claim they are wrong, even through they turned out to be spot on!)
This week is going to be interesting, as lots of talk of a leadership challenge.
