If their family has enough money they can go to private schools.

Most of my extended family went to Private schools, and in turn, most now send their children to private schools.

Personally, the local High School would have to be well below average for me to even consider sending mine Private. I don't necessarily have a political objection to them, simply that many are either not that great, or narrow the curriculum to such an extent to get results I wouldn't want my children there.

What's your experience of the English Education system? And how recent is it?Without knowing where you're coming from when you say the state system has failed for the last 50 years then it's hard to answer properly.

Just sh*t stirring as usual about a system nobody would say was perfect.

If the State system is such a success why are there so many people going Private and why the desire from supporters of the State system to take away that option?.

Lets be honest (for once) - if you are really looking to improve education you should start with the system that most people use and is failing many of its customers, not with the minority part of the education system that is working quite well.

Otherwise its just the politics of envy..data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I'll engage once you answer my simple question. What's your experience of the UK's state education system and how recent is it?

Having taught students from Private and State Schools at a certain Medical School, I would suggest that the Private School system is highly overrated, purely from an educational point of view.
Why do you think it works well? And how as an ex-pat do you know? Have you worked in higher education?

IronGiant Publish time 26-11-2019 00:44:33

How many people go Private? Why do you think people want to take your {snigger} Escape Route away?   I've only seen a call for them to have their charitable status tax cuts rescinded and for them to be Ofsted tested.

Not that many in the big scheme of things, especially when you consider how many foreign nationals send their children to Britain for a private education. There are more in private education this year compared to last year, but then there are considerably more children generally...
