Lets hope this is not some political skullduggery. 14 separate charges, but how many individual alleged victims? Are you sure they date from 2009? Salmond was initially being investigated for two alleged offences dating back to 2013; these were what initiated the crowdfunding campaign. As far as I'm aware, no details of the 'new' 14 offences have been made public, including whether these include the 2013 allegations or not.
The 2009 date in the above post refers to the date of the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act, not the date that any offences might have taken place. OK , I thought the offences were from 2009, my mistake. So we are looking at more recent times. How come it was crowd funded? Was the crime public knowledge? Sounds strange anyway. 2009 is when those laws were enacted because there are changes to a lot of laws over time. Holy smoke. He’s been a busy wee boy; allegedly.
