Old rope is unwound, pulled apart and mixed with tar to make caulking to wedge into planked deck seams.

I have nothing to add other than he is innocent until proven guilty. Apart from my personal opinion that he is an odious bigoted ****spatular.

This point is misleading and untrue.
The court date was set well before any election was announced.
If the trial date had been moved because there is an upcoming election then that would have been political bias.
The justice system and political system are (rightly) separate.
