A heavy cover of a Muse song
Hey everyone, Im back with more music for you. This time its a cover of Time Is Running Out by Muse I did with a friend. We have the original song as foundation and took the cover in a different, much heavier direction. I see it kind of as "when alt rock meets heavy metal".I did the instrumental arrangements for this one, my friend did the vocals.
I wrote 2 guitar solos for this, one of them is fairly shreddy, and tried to explore a bit into alt-rock leads here.
Have a listen and let me know what you think! Some great guitar work in there!data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Thanks Jon! Writing those guitar parts was a lot of fun data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Very good man, lead work is great as always!
You've inspired me to start work on a project I started years ago and never finished (metal version of Prodigys Wind it Up), at my rate it will be finished by 2018data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7. Thanks man!
All it takes is inspiration, you could finish that cover in 2 days data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 If I can get a rough cover/jam done in 2 weeks I'll be happydata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7.
Forgot to ask, what did you use to make the drumtrack? I've heard of people making them in guitarpro as a midi file then exporting into a DAW, something I need to look into. Got a free version of ezdrummer lite with a midi controller a while back but haven't quite got my head around it yet. All you need is to get it started, then take your time for as long as you need data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
And you pretty much got the way Im making drums, except for I use Addictive Drums for VST. Sounding pretty good for the price (100$ if I remember right).
