Got my copies of 3 & 4, the mug and the DVD yesterday, but still no welcome letter. However the corner of Ironman was a little damaged, nothing too bad just creased a little.

Have you got a link - I am interested in reading more on this - seeing as how the original 60's stuff is actually a form that you can get dirt cheap in the form of Marvel Essential editions. Black and White, yes, but its still 20issues for £10.

They could sell 8? issues or so for a £10 - I think I paid £18 for a hardback Marvel Masterworks Daredevil 1-11.

I think the real reason is the 'neatness' - the early Marvels kind of had stories that ran on and on for ages or for single issues, while modern comics are all too aware of the graphic novel format and mini series, can allow a story arc to develop thus making it easier for repackaging to sell as a GN later.

Well I've just received my 1st issue! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 finally might I add. I still haven't had a welcome letter though so that's quite odd. It seems to me that organisationally they are very poor.

Just finished Iron Man myself this evening. I liked it more than I thought I would, and loved the psudo realistic art - reading the back though, I doubt the rest of the series is like that, it took him a year and a half to create the 6 issues and the covers!

I saw an advert last night for a DC colelction, I thought it was going to be some graphic novels but is was a chess set. However the figures looked quite good, i think the first issue was £2.99 and its a figure of Batman

Hi,

Benlf, you said:
I'm sorry, but that's total guff! Partworks do get cancelled quite regularly, and I know this, having been a collector of many of them over the years, and seen what happens - usually a letter saying "We can no longer continue with X title, due to insufficient demand, and as such, are ceasing publication of it from Y date."

The only ones that don't get cancelled, are the ones like the James Bond Build An Aston Martin model kit, and other such ones. However, partworks that are just weekly/fortnightly issues or magazines, do get cancelled very often.

As for the poor Customer Service, that I agree with. I've also subscribed to the Marvel Graphic Novel Collection from Issue 3, but I've had no e-mail or Welcome Letter either, and getting in contact with them to discuss what's happening is a farce. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

However, I am pleased that so many people DO want to collect the series, as that means that the collection should run in full. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Will try phoning them again, later on today, and see what happens.

I signed up for this and got my copies of Iron man and X-Men. Finished off Iron man a few days ago and the misses is finishing off X-men then we swap.

Only thing is though, I just got an email through saying "thank you for subscribing to 'the art of quilting'" I had a look on the website and its the same company, im hoping this is just a clerical error and they have sent me the email by mistake. Anyone else get this?
