The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11 by Lawrence Wright
Gripping account of the people and events that lead up to the bombing, much of it it focused on Osama Bin Laden & Ayman al-Zawahiri. It also explores the CIA and FBI figures who failed to prevent the tragedy. It's a real eye-opener for myself since I had only a pretty vague notion of the background. I'm about 3/4 of the way through this one.

I have found the whole series to be a slog, Twilight I mean, to be honest. All the books only seem to get any better in the last 100 pages and they drop off in the last 10-15 pages of that. But I promised the Missus. The Hunger Games is written in a similar way to Twilight but is immeasurably better.I raced through the first 2 books, but the 2nd has left me a little fatigued. But it is by no means a bad book.

Haven't quite got to the end of Mockingjay but it's exciting stuff at the moment. It's a change in format from the previous two books (spoiler)but it's gearing up for a solid end. The first half of the book is paced slower than the second but it needs to be.
Enjoy Dragons, worth re-reading Feast for Crows beforehand if you haven't already. Not long until Season 2 is aired! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7as you can't really have yet another arena

I finished Feast just before Christmas, so it is still fresh in my mind.I will start one of them this week.I may get Mokingjay out of the way and start Dances on or around the 2nd of April, so i can spend as much time in Westeros as possible.

Mockingjay all done as of late last night, nice ending to a pretty good series. Some brutal stuff in there which won't survive the translation to the screen.

Hi,
I'm about 400-pages into the very lengthy novel that is Ayn Rand's "Atlus Shrugged". Enjoying it, but am glad I've got the small-sized US paperback version, and not the chunky UK one.
Am also reading Mark Kermode's hilarious triatise "The Good, The Bad, And The Multiplex", which - if you have any interest in cinema at all - you should go out and buy or borrow it from your local library immediately! A blinding title, and hilarious too. His chapters on blockbusters, 3D films, and UK cinemas willl have you doubled-over in tears! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
