This is why I've not done a package holiday in about 15 years.

I'll provide my own music as well if I want it thanks - via headphones. And do I fudge want to play volleyball.

I can easily move the salesmen/women on, just seeing them approaching can be dealt with by headshake. Its the fudgeing reps though who think its funny to pester you endlessly, not taking no for an answer when it comes to team games!Once your used to the daily routine though, its easy to move off to the bar when its time for such pool games.

What?

You must be posh. The only offers we get around the pool are from the hoteliers asking do we want to partake in their Greek night at €30 each!

LOL I bet they make a lot more money from the Russians then they do from the brits data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Cyprus also has a huge Russian embassy and allows Russian navy ships in their ports. So many are locals data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I don’t tend to have a problem with the Russians. Quite like them actually. Very straight talking, but don’t be English polite to them (in general) as that comes across as a real weakness.

For me being abroad is primarily the food, the quality of the food is nearly every so much better than in the UK. And much cheaper as well.

Don’t like about being abroad is waiting and hanging about at airports, and in many places the dirt on the side of the roads and general untidiness. Primarily on my Asia travels with a few exceptions.

I’ve never had sales people around a pool luckily. In Mauritius we did have a sun glasses cleaner chap. Once a day is fine, but he came round every hour which was a bit much.

You get a lot of lucky lucky men in the Canaries and on the spanish mainland. Every 5 minutes hustling you to buy cheap lighters and crap sunglasses.

I don't think they are hotel staff, just chancers who walk in off the street, you have to be straight with them from the off, I've seen many people try to be kind with half promises "maybe tomorrow" or "I haven't got the money with me now" when you leave it things open with chancers, you will have problems with them.We are very direct though (it's in the genes) data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

These salesmen/women don't want to waste their time either, if they know that there is no chance of business, they'd rather move on.

indeed - some people are just too polite and can't say no...they almost feel guilty so they say stuff like maybe later...I tend to just avoid eye contact when I see them and just continue walking..
