The first of my Dad's cars that I remember was one of these Peugeot 504's. Comfortable seats, poor body roll and very unreliable auto box.

I learnt to drive in a mid 80's Opel Kadett. Great little car.

My mum had a Wartburg estate MOU222L - it was bright '70's orange - the perfect hipster car now!

My father always had a car but oddly I cannot remember any of the earlier ones. I remember he came home one day in '86 minus his company car and declared he'd quit his job to setup a new company with his colleagues. The new car he got after that was a Ford Sierra, and there was a whole series of them, all white, mix of sub-models and fuels etc. Maybe his prior car was also a Sierra and hence it doesn't stand out.
He only kept each for 18 months or so as he used to do circa 80,000 miles a year in them as he often worked far from home but never liked staying away from home - at one point he was doing a daily 650 mile round journey to "commute" to Glasgow, have to say circa as many had the speedo/odometer disconnected :S
Mother got a secondhand Austin Mini Metro around 1987 which caught fire and burnt out a couple of years later which was the first car that was "hers"

The last car I owned before we got married and had kids was this beastie...

Brilliant car.Drink fuel but great car.
Had lots of mundane cars since and couple of kids....
Kids are now gone and married... Now have a mint Mk5 Astra 150 BHP.... Chipped! And it's a beast. Not over done but goes like hell.My son fitted bigger brakes, shocks and few other bits..... Not sure of the bhp now but it's up there.Won't be changing it for a while.

Dad's first car that I remember was a Renault 12 saloon.A car that looked almost the same at the front and back data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Renault 12 - Wikipedia
Dad had a pale blue or white one which he put on its roof, replaced by a metallic green one, then a Renault 18.
Apparently Dacia were still making them until 2004!

Wow. Very nice.
Batmobile is also what my Consul Classic 315 (the Ford that didn't wear a Ford badge) was called by the younger kids at school.
