Just a bit of a swerveball.
My old man has swapped his RRS for a 2016 Disco Sport, he loves it.
38mpg, still has that Land Rover feel to it.
He bought it from Land Rover so 2 years warranty.
Have to say that with a 2 litre diesel engine I had written them off, but after driving it a bit i would happily own one myself.
May wait till the si4 petrols are within budget, but would happily own one.

The local health authority has just invested in Skoda Octavia 4x4s for the first response paramedics. The Octavia is a car that has impressed me and I know the 4x4s ride pretty high. As far as Audi is concerned I had a Q3 Quattro for three trouble free years and for three years not so much as a flake of snow. I changed it last year for a Golf GTD...…..and got snowed in and had to miss a hospital appointment. Sods law I suppose.

i had the Range Rover a Merc ML and an E350 estate this winter, however, the RWD Mercedes E350 estate had winter tyres fitted, I used that and made it every where, even in the deepest of snow.
It was only when trying to drive through a really deep drift it got caught out.

I would love one of those newer E350 estates. Always liked the way they looked. Or even better C63 estate. I like aggressively looking cars. Out of my price league though.
Skoda is a sensible option. It won't bring a smile to my face, but I'm sure it would be a great car to own. Only read good things about it. But my god, they are bland.
I like Audi look, the modern ones look aggressive and fast. Still, an expensive car to own.
Disco / Disco Sport is on the list too. The looks are not there comparing to RRS and RR, but I'm not discounting it just yet. I feel like it would be more sensible choice than RRS / RR, but definitely less exciting.

The RR and RRS are not exciting at all anyway. You just fall in love with the waft factor.
And to be honest the Disco Sport does the same thing, more modern feeling and looking and at much more sensible running costs.
My favourite is still the BMW X3 for exciting, that and the Macan, amazing how well they do handling, fun and relaxing in one car.
BMW 6cyl is bullet proof too. Happily run one of those without a warranty.

*Exciting to me
I should probably make a disclaimer that all opinions are my own data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 RR / RRS might not be an exciting drive, but definitely exciting to own.
If I'm honest BMW's X'something doesn't do it for me at all. Bland and boring to look at, especially the older ones, within the budget. Much prefer the look of Q7, but not a very practical car and expensive to run.
What's "Macan" BTW?

It's a Porker. An very nice it is too. Would certainly be the Porsche of choice in the event of a Lottery win, which is very unlikely as I don't do the Lottery.

I took the Audi SQ5, the X3 and A Disco sport out for a test drive a couple of years ago all 2014/15 models
X3 i found was not the most conformable of drives and didn't like it at all, interior felt dated and just the same as any other BMW to look at.
SQ5, i loved, all the power i needed comfortable to drive and planted through the corners, Interior felt plusher than the X3 but not as special as i would have liked. Down side is the amount of wasted space
Disco Sport is what the brain would have had me buying, i was really surprised by it, great interior, good use of space drive was nice but alas only done in a 2l engine. Its was also relatively new at the time and everyone was raving about it so was holding its second hand residual value well.
Personally i would have liked to have taken a few more SUV's out before we made a final decision but the wife turned into a brand snob overnightdata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
