Golf GTi MkV tyre choice?

My '58 plate GTi came with Pirelli P Zero Rosso 225/40 18 all round (IIRC).
I couldn't find them last time so I fitted Michelin Pilot Sport 3 on the back.
No complaints about them but nothing to rave about.I don't take the car to the track and I drive briskly but not like a rally driver on the road.

Last year I fitted Michelin Cross Climate on our Mini in case we got snow as I have an 8 mile cross country school run.The weather in East Anglia was mild and never saw snow, they were fine in the wet and cold though and were a massive ride improvement over the Bridgestone runflats.

Now I need new fronts again for the GTi and I have a choice.

Pirelli P Zero - £104.99 each

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 - £117.30 each

Pirelli P Zero Rosso - £127.50 each

I have a sneaky suspicion that I wouldn't tell the difference between any of these but what would you choose and why?

I think your probably right - 95% of us either couldn't tell the difference or don't care. I've generally always just stuck with Michelin tyres but for no particular reason!

The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 are my current front runner, mainly because of A rating in the wet and C rating for fuel.Again I'm not sure I'll notice the difference in my pocket from better fuel economy.
Still curious what anyone else would do.

important info missing, load index and speed rating..Not all tyres that sizes have the same load index and speed rating..

Fair point, I've added them to the first post.
Looking at the descriptions they're all Y speed rated (186mph) which is well above the top speed of the car even when it was new data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

The Rosso are lower load rated than the others which seems a bit odd.

I have 92 Y on the front and back at the moment.

I used Goodyear f1 assy 2 on a golf r32. 225/40 18. Suited the car very well.

Ta.

Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 £127.50

A bit more than the Pilot Sport 4 but a bit quieter.I'll think about them too.

Seems the PS4 arewell liked in the motoring press...

Forget the asymmetric 2's - they've been replaced by the better (and cheaper) asymmetric 3's.

Weird - A2 are £126.76 at Blackcircles

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 - £97.26 at Blackcircles plus a £10 off code for buying 2.
Fuel C
Wet A
67dB
225/40 R18 Y (92)

I'd almost made my mind up for the Michelin PS4! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I'm going for the asymmetric 3's next time. The michelin ps4 is a great tyre but the Goodyear is cheaper and has less road noise.
