since i started this thread i have had a new DMF and clutch fitted and the problem is cured but
because i had everything replaced i'l never know if it was just a simple case of the pressure plate not being able to provide enough clamping pressure or the DMF causing the issue
iv'e got the old parts with me and am seriously considering sending them back to LUK so they can inspect them and tell me which part failed and why with so little mileage
my own untrained visual inspection shows nothing i can see If the clutches are already on the limits in that model, then maybe the remap isn’t helping either. My golf went from 130bhp to 177bhp and 228ft-lbs of torque to 333. So it was no surprise the clutch started slipping. Same here Civic 07 2.2 diesel had a new clutch plate and DMF fitted due to warping under warranty.I think it’s the supposedly the updated 325 version.
It’s managed around 30k and it’s showing signs of slipping again any acceleration up hills in 3rd and it slips.Out of warranty now so may just approach the Honda dealers who fitted it for an explanation.
No mapping has been done on the car and I don’t ride the clutch pedal either.
As mentioned above lots of pages on Civinfo with this problem. did the clutch start to slip straight after the re map or did it take some time before it started ? Pretty much straight away. i was willing to accept 30,000 miles from the clutch considering the car is re mapped but what i didn't add to the equation was the DMF being knackered
i have the old DMF here with me along with friction plate ( which looks in good order ) pressure plate and thrust bearing
the DMF to my untrained eyes looks like it's within tolerance doing the usual checks but i am no expert mine took 30,000 miles before it started to slip but the clutch was new at the time of the re map it had just been replaced
