What does this dash symbol mean ?
https://www.avforums.com/attachments/dash-symbol-jpg.1121513/ Vehicle check: https://www.avforums.com/attachments/7349a12a-1e06-46f7-9b4f-78541f38a8db-jpeg.1121516/ It's either due a service or a bmw vehicle check which is just another way bmw like to make money as a vehicle check is no more then a visual check around the car and they charge £50-80.I had it on my old E92 and just reset the vehicle check. Service obviously needs attending to if ones due. What’s the service intervals on the car? If it’s nearly due one then book it in for one and they should do these checks anyway The symbol only appears occasionally and the next thing on the CBS is the MOT in October. So I guess the garage can read the key then and let me know if anything else needs doing. How old is the car? Has it been serviced since it was new ?- it has nearly 18k miles on it, so needs to be at least given a quick once-over.
If it was me I'd give the garage a quick call asking what they would do, and could that wait until the MOT is due in October.I suspect that the tyres may need checking / rotating between now & October (assuming they haven't been changed in the past), as well as fluids, filters and associated other bits. Last service was four months ago. The lady said they cleared some codes that indicated possible future DPF problems and that I should drive the car more. Preferably on the motorway once a week !
The dash symbol only started appearing a week ago. Did you take notice of the Lady and give the car a nice run at least once a week?and funny enough I thought DPF when I first viewed the symbol in the first post. That looks like an E90 speedo? 18k miles on a diesel that is at least 6 years old? data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
