We seem to be lucky that we are getting £740 and the pcp paid off in full

We would of hoped so but seems insurance and pcp are wise and the only way to get anything is GAP insurance also.

My concern was, that in order to start afresh she won't have a several K deposit to put down.

Cheers. She has almost no deposit only £740 to use and a little from the person belongings claim.
She was lucky in that the amount on pcp has been paid and that if she had more loan on pcp she would of been in negative equity and owing the loan company.

Exactly that.
She has worked so hard she was given a 30% pay increase and a big promotion. Yes 30% I was shocked but ow so proud.
She’s saving hard to buy a house too.
She’s 25.

If she's social media savvy follow dealers
They're always posting deal's low deposit/zero & temping monthlies
Just stack it in your favour with RTI gap (£100)

So two key lessons from this;
A. Really shop around for the price. She overpaid when getting into this deal by a fair amount.
B. When getting PCP and you’ve paid a decent deposit, and especially when it’s a not a new vehicle take out back to invoice gap insurance. Should be on that amount no more than £100.
Ps. Most insurance companies cover new vehicles during the first 12 months back to list price.
