well.. jus came from ford and they told me to do everything everyone else said.. i said yes i have bla bla bla.. so i booked it in for tuesday, the mechanic said the module's gone tits up so either replace it (cough £250 cough i think not) or fix it.. or aftermarket such as parrot..if he cant fix it ill go for the aftermarket.. im not a big fan of aftermarket.. i prefer OEM.. however, now i know parrot.. are there any others.. also aside from price whats the difference? also would i need to get out a loan for ford to set it up or can i jus figure it out myself?

interesting , bt unit gone tits up , if you are interested i have a way of finding out the exact spec of the car , its free to register for it , if you are interested then let me know , i have just checked my car on it and it lists the bt as part of the spec , i am not saying the dealer is having you over but if they think they can get away with generating a bit of extra income .............

My money is still on it being a factory fit option that wasn't fitted on the car in the first place.

Scans from the 08\58 Focus price list.

You can clearly see that BT is an option rather than standard fit.

got it.. great thanks will give that a look through later.. thanks again!

superking Publish time 24-11-2019 22:56:17

well ive had a look.. even in the minor features.. theres nothing i can find about BT.. isuppose i should just cancel the appointment with Ford and go for aftermarket in the end..

nheather Publish time 24-11-2019 22:56:18

I had a look at Vehicle Lookup for my car and whilst most details are there it is a bit hit and miss on the spec.

For example, my car has the following factory fit options

Metallic Paint
Climatic Air Conditioning
Roof Bars
BT Hands Free
IPOD Preperation

On Vehicle Lookup my options are shown as

Metallic Paint and Climatic Air Conditioning only.

So just because it isn't listed, doesn't mean it isn't fitted.

Nigel

well resetting the stereo didnt do anything.. and do you mean to remove the screws connecting the glove compartment to gain access? it requires a hexagonal screwdriver (which i dont have)..

thanks,

Alec
