So barring miracles, Australia will play NZ and England will have an away match against India againdata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Fully expect the Aussies to ease past NZ.A coin toss may well decide England-India.

The Windies really should win from this position!

Afghanistan/West Indies: finally!
There is talent in both sides (I was really impressed in the 18-year-old Ikram's innings) and the Afghans got close to a win on a few occasions, it's just experience at this level about staying calm and seeing out a game that's missing.
Again, the West Indies fielding swung between sublime and ridiculous, and I don't know where on earth the terrifying pace bowlers they used to regularly produce off the production line has gone, so it still feels like a very long ongoing project.
On to the semi finals now! I said early on an Australia/India final (though we're still to see who finishes top, and therefore, who plays who in the semis), but knock out cricket is just so difficult to predict as teams can freeze, or not turn up or lose by one run.
Any predictions?

Only that NZ won’t be winners!

Well that’s a win and a half by the Saffers! Too late for them but it sets up the semi finals nicely!

The look on the Aussies faces at the end of the game gave it away. England at their Edgbaston stronghold instead of a fading NZ side.

I think England may well have still preferred to play India. I know I would.
Current weather forecast for later in the week looks a bit mixed so it might not be a runfest again (like their last game at Edgbaston).

Good point. I agree Aussie are the team to beat. No idea why England are the favourites. Unsettled in the north next few days so we'll have to wait and see on that. Starc says he'll continue to pepper Morgan with the short ball.
