Delighted for Lowry, such a likeable character.
Great day for the Irish. Our 5th different major winner in recent years, not bad for such a small country.

Yeah, delighted for Lowry.

JB Holmes went from third ($718 000) to almost third from bottom ($25 000) data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

That is a shocker from Holmes. A bit of bad weather turns up, and he can't play. I think I wouldn't have gone round in that many more shots than he did!!

200/1 as well before Thursday. I'll bet a few were getting excited about a nice return on an E/W bet from him.

Not anymore!!

I hope that Portrush now becomes a permanent course in the rotation for the Open as it was a star performance and a welcome one .

I will be at next year's Open at Sandwich for the Friday cut that whilst will not be as nice as Portrush . It will be my first ever up close n personal Open experience .
