Yup , believe Tiger may have serious back issues once again . Not sure the colder climate agrees with him as he did not play well at Bethpaige Black on the colder climate . He has also not played much golf at all since the Masters Win .

Brooks put in another good round , he served his apprenticeship on the European BTW .

Good leader board going into the weekend.

Rory , like another poster stated is nail biting to watch as one is waiting for that big mistake whilst watching him .

For me his short iron / wedge play is still lacking compared to others around him . His putting has improved but still not at the level a round him .

DJ for example was always an exeptional driver of the ball but terrible wedge player , he is now regarded as one of the best out there with targeting his weakness.

Rory is still with the same coach from way back when , I do wish he would get someone in as he did with Brad Faxton on putting to a dress his wedge play .

He is 3 under for his round today. Not going to be enough though.

My uncle has arthritis, and soon as the temperature dips he starts to suffer. Not saying that's what Tiger has, but it's of a similar ilk. Perhaps not curable now with any kind of an operation.

The question for the next few hours is can McIlroy shoot-3in the next 9 holes....

Four over now for the championship data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7. He is having a go in the more unfavourable conditions.

Molinari putting a good round together , back to level par .would be nice if Sky showed a bit more of the current champion .

Sky coverage is abysmal at times. Some of the guys who have shot 65/66 have barely had a mention, if at all. They stick to the same guys too much, some of which aren't up to much.

Fair play to Rory here, he's having a great go.

It's infuriating at times compared to the BBC coverage of it back in the day. Sky will show a poor Tiger or indeed Rory round at the expense of lesser names having a blinder.

Rory now 3 over for the championship , five under today .

Have to say the star of this year's Open is the course itself , stunning location .

Ah , Rory in a nutshell on one hole . Massive drive , 74 yards remain and he puts in in the green side bunker . Evan a numpty like me would be expecting to Putt on the nrxt shot from that distance out .

Well credit to the man for that fightback, and also that interview afterwards. It was good to come out straight away and talk.

I think he'll take a little bit longer than just a bit to get over this though. May be many a year before it's back at Portrush, and not being there for this Sunday will be devastating to him. As it will Clarke, who somehow managed to triple bogey the 18th today.

No doubt Rory has the game, but he definitely needs to get his mental strength back if he wants to win more Major's. As McGinley said after, too often he has these lapses that cost him. He must be more like Tiger Woods, and be unrelenting for 4 straight rounds. As Koepka has been doing these past couple of years.
