Problem with Sansa Clip

My wife has asked me to change the music on her Sansa Clip so when I went into the music folder I clicked on track one and got this message.The requested resource is in use.I clicked on track one again and this time it played this happened for all the 18 tracks.It looks like there are two tracks listed under each track number.I then deleted all 18 tracks and when I checked the tracks had all gone.But when I then turned the unit on it was still showing music tracks.There was no music showing on the unit and none when I plugged it into the laptop.I copied the music onto the Sansa player again and the same thing happened I clicked on the first track and got that message clicked a second time and it played.It is almost as if there two tracks of everything but cannot be.Any ideas

Try deleting songs from the device itself without plugging in to the computer. Then try a device reset (although that doesn’t do anything with songs) then finally try a format in the settings menu.
