Have four security lights with low light until area breached and then light up. These Bulkhead lights use Edison Screw 40w old bulbs and wanted to know if i can replace these with low wattage LED or do i have to change the light fitting completly?

Hard to tell, dimmable led bulbs should work bit can flicker if dimmed too low. Philips LED bulbs are the ones I found work best with dimmers but there's still a chance rhe fixture might dim too low for them.
