My daughters have booked up to go to NYC in June.  When they got their confirmation it says to go to airline website to input any information requested,  but no information is asked for. Don't they normally want names and passport numbers?  I know I have done this before months in advance, albeit with Easyjet. Is Delta different and they import details when they check in a month before travel?
TIA

You should see a link to the area where you enter API (Advanced Passenger Information) on the check in page; I assume they already have an ESTA each as this will also be required.

I hate Delta Airlines with a passion FWIW, I wouldn't choose them again irrespective of ticket prices.

Each airline, and booking system, is free to do this at which ever point in time they want. However they cannot issue a checkin confirmation without it. As such it wouldn't surprise me when some only do this at the point you are actually checking in.

Credentials? Let's just say that I was responsible for getting this to work in the UK following an initial well publicised failed project.
