Hi,

I've booked 4 nights in Prague for January with the wife, can anyone advise average costs of food and drinks any recommended anything to do or see.

I'm also looking at booking 4 nights in Porec (Pula) for early May. Would also like to know the same re food drink and things to do or see.

We've never been to either place and tend to go the usual each resort type places but fancy something different next year.

We just returned from 5 nights in Albufeira and spent 950 euros on food, drink and two excursions and a few taxis. So hopefully that can help re how much many we may need for the above two places.

Thanks

Porec was lovely last time I went on holiday (in the old Yugoslavia), met  my first girlfriend there in 1988 so it holds a special place in my heart (despite her breaking it soon after landing back in Manchester)

Having never been to Pula I cant comment but in the past few months ive been to Prague twice once with my other half and 2 weeks ago with a couple of mates and both occasions were very different.

Given I know nowt about you recommending things to do, places to eat/drink may be a tad futile.

For example my other half loves a cocktail therefore in Prague we spent a lot of time in "cash only bar", "hemmingway bar" and "street" with my mates, who def dont like cocktails we spent a lot of time in "u fleku" which i personally would avoid like the plague and a few of the "lokal" bars.

Things to do well the obvious ones are walk across the charles bridge, gawp at the astronomical clock, which was covered in tarpaulin two weeks ago, walk up to prague castle but dont pay to go in the bits you can get to without paying are just as good as paying, mooch around the jewish district and visit the synagogue where the golem is supposed to be located, go and check out the franz kafka moving statue, walk through the powder tower, take a free tour, visit the john lennon wall etc etc etc.

cost well i got back from Paris last night and the cost of three nights in prague was roughly what I spent on a night in paris, for food and drink etc but again I have no idea about what your standards are. Normally on city breaks me and the other half allow £100 a night for food and drink, paris we done probably closer to £150 a night and Prague £50-£60 ish.

also go and check out honest guide on youtube hes from prague and has some great ideas of things to do and places to eat/drink and visit
