So what do fellow cricket fans think of this young lads international career this far. Seems to be a very competent player and managed a good ton in today's thread. Still early days possibly but it's been a while since I have seen a debutant put in such good consistent displays in his first handful of tests.

The big challenge comes with the upcoming ashes and I think he deserves his chance to prove himself further

Lovely knock by root, looks like he'll be around the England setup for quite a while. It will be interesting if Compton is dismissed cheaply again in the second innings and kp is declared fit for the ashes. Root to open with Cook ? or maybe they'll move bell up
