Smartwatch Question and Recommendation

Hi,

I've never seen the need for a smartwatch before now, so despite being interested in most new things technological, they have passed me by, and as a result, I'm not even sure that a smartwatch can do the things I want it to.
Being a light sleeper, and having moved house to an area where there's couple of noisy dogs at night, I'd like to wear earplugs as I sleep. However, I still want to be alerted if my smoke alarms (Nest Protects) or burglar alarms (yet to be purchased, but maybe a Risco smart alarm) go off. If they do, and my watch is worn, while I sleep, will it vibrate if any of these devices send a notification to my phone? Do all smart watches do this? Can anyone recommend a model under £100 that'll fit the bill?
