I would suspect the power supply circuit inside the tablet has given up the ghost. A 5 to6 year run is pretty good. While the component which has failed would be a few pence, getting it fixed will cost as much as a new machine.
My reasoning is that if it refuses to turn on with the charger in place,it's a hardware fault... By the way is the charger the standard mini or micro usb? Or is a special one. If it is the micro usb ,there is a trick you might try... Get one of those battery packs, and charge it up,with the charger. When all the lights are one, connect it instead of the charger and see can it turn on. Sometimes at turn on the power required might be more than the charger can supply. It's unlikely to be the solution ,but for 5 quid, not a bad test.. and you will have the battery pack for a future. |
