heading off in 3 weeks on holiday, looking for a tablet that i can load movies onto for flights, sd card slot, and the ability to use a otg cable,

I recently bought an 8" Huawei Mediapad M5 I can connect it via USB and chuck movies on the memory card. The built-in speakers are superb for when you want to watch something back at your hotel room. It is perfect for my needs which are pretty much identical to yours. I use mine every couple of weeks when I fly.
I was about to buy one of these to replace a very old Hudl2 but the current Huawei spat with Trump and China has left me in a quandary. I would hate to spend £250 and then lose the Google Play Store - it would make the tablet obsolete overnight.
