Small hard drive problem

I want to delete this Folder but it will not let me I get this message which I do not understand what to do Here is a screen shot. How do I get rid of it I have not got a clue where it has gone.Thanks

right click - properties where does it show the folder location is ?

The file is shown on Drive A:.  This was probably an external device like a USB stick that you have disconnected so of course the drive and file can't be found. .  If you open a Windows Explorer window and then this PC.  Post a screen grab of what is shown.  Generally Windows is installed on Drive C: which may be the only internal drive that is permanently connected.

The A: drive is a 4TB hard drive which I am coping a load of stuff to the other two drives I have are My T;Drive and my C: drive is the one that has windows. Here is the screen shot I have taken on windows Explorer

So was the file put on that drive using another machine ? if so it could be a permissions issue !

Yeah most likely a permissions issue basically so explorer cannot delete it.

You will have to use a command line to get rid of it or a third party utility, instructions and links here.

Alternatively connect up the drive to non-Windows system, something running Ubuntu and use it's file manager to delete the folder, you can run ubuntu in a live demo mode from DVD or USB drive from existing PC without having to install the OS.

Change the letter from A: to something else, and try again
