sorry mods if in wrong area? if so please move me..

i used to do this way back when pc's where windows XP..
and VGA/DVI was the norm.....

now my monitor is DP/HDMI/DVI.
this makes it harder... as KVM switches seems to be VGA/DVI or HDMI/DP

my main PC is windows 10 with DP port
my second tower has DVI connection..

so video connection isn't a issue.
as main pc via DP and 2nd pc via DVI to the monitor..

its the mouse and keyboard..

need a switch that can switch the usb mouse and keyboard between two cases.

anyone currently do this ? and can recommend a product.

i was thinking on paying the extra to get a usb3.0 version.
but read that some older usb2.0 devices struggle when connected.
so i think its safer to stay with a usb2.0 version switch

You could always try software I used to use Synergy with some sucess. Install it on both PCs configure it and then you can share KB and Mouse easily.
I cant remember if there was a freeware version.

The other alternative, if you use Logitech stuff, is thier Flow software, again just works.
