I have a Dell 9360r laptop which has warranty expiring tomorrow, I have been quoted a ridiculous amount by Dell to extend 1,2,3 years

1 year

Premium Support and Next Business Day

196.21 £

2 years

Premium Support and Next Business Day

313.94 £

3 years

Premium Support and Next Business Day

372.80 £

Are there any alternatives, or a way to reduce the Dell cost?

Try asking your home contents insurance provider for a quote.

It is already on my contents insurance, but that is only for lost/stolen and accidental damage, it won't cover hardware issues

I never buy extended warranties. Most computers are pretty reliable and will last several years if treated with care, once they have survived the 12m warranty period. After you have paid the premiums and the excess you could have bought another computer. They are only there to make money for the insurance company and the reseller.
