Was LIED to by A DELL REP

After having my DELL XPS 15 laptop repaired by DELL, I spoke to a sales rep who offered me a deal for a DELL Inspiron 14" Chromebook with 128GB SSD, 4GB RAM, 1920x1080 HD Display for $399.00. He offered 3-year hardware support for $89.00 to start after the included 1-year support. He also offered a FREE wireless mouse in the deal.

I applied and was approved by Dell Financial Services for an account. He called me back and I ordered this computer that he offered me. Well, just last week I received the statement from Dell Financial Services. After looking it over, I found that instead of $399.00 that he offered me, I found out that I was charged $556.48 for the Chromebook AND $20.59 for the so-called FREE wireless mouse. There was no mention of the 3-year hardware support for $89.00.

Between the time that the Chromebook was delivered by FedEx on March 13th and last week when I received the statement from DELL Financial Services, I had not heard from DELL by telephone, mail or email stating what I would be charged.

I called DELL to state that I was LIED to by a DELL REP and wanted to return the Chromebook, I was told to wait till Monday 04-29-2019 for a call back from her. I received the call and was told that the return was not approved due that I did not contact them within 30 days. That is a poor excuse because I had no idea what I was charged for this Chromebook.

I am asking for advice to who I can contact to resolve this issue and be able to return the Chromebook.

Consumer rights and resolution options differ by country and this is an international forum with a large UK visitor base. You appear to be from an English speaking country that uses dollars like Australia, New Zealand, the US or Canada so you'll need to state where you are so anyone familiar with the local systems can help.

Oh ...DELL, avoid them !!! not necessarily their laptops (if bought from somewhere else).

Once upon a time I bought one I7 XPS, new, and I received a garbage. So, after a long chat with them, they sent me two more, but it proved to be the same "garbage" (probably a misfortunate batch). I sent all 3 back and I switched to HP.
