Hi guys, i'm not sure if here it's the right section to post it.

I have an XPS15 9750 and i bought few days ago one monitor U2717D 2K, i connected all via HDMI cable i found at home but to watch Movie in high resolution but i don't understand.. I have problems with headaches, little eyes burn also with Sharpness 0 And it seems to me that everything is not properly focused (Maybe because it's matt screen?). I've never had any of these problems with monitor, not with my Xps monitor etc.

I thought maybe the cable could be the problem. What is the best solution to connect these two togheter?

XPS 15 9750 have:
1 HDMI 2.0

Thunderbolt™ 3

DisplayPort 1.2

VGA

U2717D:

HDMI 1.4 (MHL)

DisplayPort

Mini DisplayPort

Thank you so much.

That's a 2560x1440 resolution so HDMI is fine and capable of running the monitor at it's full resolution. The problem is unlikely to be there.

Headaches and burning eyes are usually a sign that you have the screen brightness set too high.

Films will look a little soft and they're recorded at 1920x1080 or 3840x2160 so to show them full screen they've got to be scaled up or down to 2560x1440. Have you checked the resolution is set to 2560x1440?

The default sharpness value is likely to be the image as sent by the computer. If that's not 0 putting it to the extreme end of the scale may be creating the soft out of focus look.

Not saying it's a cause but have you updated the drivers on the XPS 15 9570, the latest graphics drivers are dated July 2019?

I also agree with @EndlessWaves that it's more likely to be sharpness, brightness and perhaps contrast affected by the graphics output of the XPS.

The XPS is not on Dell's compatible list for for the U2717D, but that's maybe down to them not getting around to it at the time or the fact that the 9570 was released 12 months after the U2717D.
