I agree, and there are far-cheaper camcorders that will do web-cam duty... generally the finished quality is rather low, since it is "Content" that keeps folks watching. Something with a Manual Focus is preferable and if possible a mic-input so you can have the mic closer to you. You've not said "what" you are expecting to broadcast but if it's you facing the Audience, then a modest tripod is needed, about eye-level.
The VXF1 is probably an excellent choice for any film-making project ( or family memories), but it's a bit of an over-kill IMHO for Web-uses. Of course, if you are expecting to Edit the footage, maybe include some exterior action..( but for bike-rides / Skiing; an Action-cam is better choice and cheaper)... then that's a different story....
