Hi, I need a little help in deciding if I should keep my Panasonic HC-WXF991 or should I buy the newer HC-WXF1. What are the advantages one as over the other?
Thanks

The 991 has a great spec (apart from that silly camera on the LCD screen ) I would run off the specs for both cameras and do a line for line comparison. Personally I cannot see much difference.
The WXF1 has had a bit of a bad press on this forum. I suggest you do a search on the WXF1 and VXF1 (in the UK)
For various reasons I stuck with HD. I have the HC-V800 but my last camera is the 750 so I missed one issue. The 800 is a step up from the 750 in lens and chip size, body design and probably firmware. I use both for multicam operation and editing.

Hi Terfyn, thanks for your reply, I have really enjoyed the little camera on the LCD screen, also like you, I personally don't use 4K quality, but every second or third year I like to switch up cameras, and of course if there is a better quality camera with better features, example (low light quality) than that is  what I would switch to.

Its natural to want the latest, I'm the same in this respect. Certainly this range of cameras VXF1, VX1 and V800 have good low light performance. Panasonic use this as a selling point.
Whether it is a "better" camera is subjective, certainly it has newer features but, on another post, the VXF1 has been compared to an older 3 CCD model (see Question  Is 3mos camcorder technology obsolete or  just expensive on the other Forum where you have posted your question)
So if you want the latest, and why not? go for it.
